Heyground Harlem: Space Program Manager
Job Summary
Heyground Harlem (HGH) is looking to hire a Space Manager to assist with the development and execution of events and classes at Heyground Harlem (461 West 126th Street, New York, NY, 10027).
This position is a full-time equivalent, needed for Tuesday-Saturday from 1PM-9PM with some flexibility.
This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours
The role requires a strong understanding of event planning processes, hospitality, and events execution
Roles & Responsibilities
An event professional with a minimum of 2 years experience in planning and executing experiential events, including ideating innovative concepts, creating and executing event plans, managing and tracking overall event budgets, maintaining excellent client relationships, supporting in managing vendor relations, and overseeing on-site execution
Plan and coordinate all aspects of internal events of varying size and scale, from research and planning to logistics, execution, and feedback post event
Be an attentive communicator through email, social media, and in-person to any individual who inquires about the space, its mission, and programming
Establish a great working relationship with entrepreneurs, building trust with members and partners to stay informed of overall client satisfaction and business changes/developments
Oversee Heyground Harlem events and be a knowledgeable source for event hosts, members, and all HGH guests
Assist with daily tasks and space needs on a regular basis (Tracking inventory, running errands, and keeping the space clean)
Utilize our database to forecast events and update the team as needed
Responsible for post-event wrap-up tasks such as archiving event photos, and collateral materials, capturing data for analysis and reporting
Make a personal connection with HGH members and ensure that all of their guests' needs aren't just met, but exceeded; consistently promote this guest-focused approach to hosting
Can learn, apply and speak articulately to clients and vendors about Heyground’s procedures, policies, and protocols and possesses the confidence to make “in the moment” decisions with professionalism, discretion, and maturity
Assist in conceptualizing engaging and creative programming for the Heyground Harlem community with an emphasis on HGH regular classes and workshops
Assist with space walk-throughs, and promoting programming to the HGH community
Capture and report back to Program Manager any newsletter content to promote HGH programming and source opportunities, deals, and other HGH-relevant news
Assists the Director of Programs and Community Manager with special projects
Ensure the completion of all event reporting and use member feedback reports to continuously improve member satisfaction
Additional duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
Prior experience in hospitality, space management, or events coordination
Strong organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, including written and verbal.
Excellent people skills with empathy: works well with a range of different individuals.
Self-starter and an ability to complete necessary responsibilities on your own
Preferred Skills
Experience with entrepreneur, art, and/or wellness programming
Basic technology skills necessary for troubleshooting with Printer/IT/AV etc
Strong community understanding of Harlem, the Bronx, or NYC
The base salary range for this role is minimum $50,000 - $65,000 maximum, depending on years of experience and qualifications.
