David
As a composer and musician who has performed in various art-world contexts over the past 20 years in close collaboration with artist Sung Hwan Kim, he has exhibited, performed, or created commissioned works for Asian Arts Theatre, Gwangju, Korea; MoMA, New York; Tate Modern, London; Bayerischer Rundfunk, Munich; STEIM, Amsterdam; to name a selection. His desire to make connections via research and innovative storytelling dovetails with an interest in social justice and resilient civil society. Yet-to-be-told community narratives have such powerful potential to serve.
David holds a BA in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard College and a postgraduate diploma from DasArts: De Amsterdamse School/Advanced Studies in the Performing Arts. He has published three albums, In Korean Wilds and Villages (Sonig Records), one from in the room (Bayerischer Rundfunk/Intermedium Records), and howl bowel owl (ibid.).
